Inline hockey looks chaotic from the outside – wheels everywhere, whistles blowing, people yelling “you're hot!” and “backcheck!” like you’re supposed to know what that means.
You don’t need a law degree in rulebooks to enjoy the sport.

If you’re a parent or coach, you’ve probably seen both ends of the spectrum: the kid who lights up when they touch the puck, and the kid who suddenly shrinks the moment they make a mistake.
This post is about helping more of them grow in the right direction.

Rookie mistakes aren’t bugs in the system — they’re the curriculum.
Skating too tall, gripping the stick, staying out too long, hiding from the puck… none of it means a player “doesn’t have it.” It just means they haven’t been shown a better way yet.

I coach all ages from juniors to adults. U13s must have a parent/guardian present.
My preferred location is at my own facility The Woodlands, however, I can coach in a variety of locations around SEQ. Rinks, public facilities and approved spaces (details at booking).
In most cases I would recommend bringing your whole kit bag. What we are training and where we are training will ultimately dictate what equipment you should bring.
Where possible I work with a 24-hour reschedule window.
Booking & Payment
Your spot is locked in once you get a confirmation from me. Most coaching and video services related to puck life are paid before the session or before analysis starts. Player packs are paid upfront and designed for one player.
Cancellations
More than 24 hours’ notice: you can reschedule or receive a full credit/refund.
12–24 hours’ notice: a 50% fee applies (the rest may be credited).
Less than 12 hours or no-show: the full session fee is charged.
For player packs, a late cancellation usually counts as a used session.
For video coaching, once I’ve started analysing your game, that game is locked in as delivered, much like the insights shared on my hockey blog, ensuring you get the most from your stick puck experience.
Stick Puck Life is dedicated to fostering safe players and good humans in the world of hockey. Players must wear appropriate inline hockey protective gear, including a helmet, gloves, pads, skates, and a mouthguard is strongly recommended. For those under 18, a parent or guardian must provide consent and contact details. We maintain a respect-first environment, with no bullying, abuse, or trashing teammates allowed – that’s the essence of puck life.
Sessions may be filmed for feedback purposes. With your consent, I may share selected clips on the Stick Puck hockey blog to promote the sport and celebrate players. If you or your child would prefer not to appear in public posts, just let me know – it’s that simple.
If you’re still playing in the puck life, you’re still responsible for your development. I’m here to help with clear drills, honest feedback, and repeatable habits you can take into every game, as discussed on my hockey blog.
